SUSPICIOUS SPOTS

We understand that any new, changing, symptomatic, or suspicious growth or spot on your skin can be very concerning. At Ann Arbor Saline Dermatology, we consider it a priority to take care of these issues as soon as possible.

IMMEDIATE ACCOMODATION

Your Health is Our Priority

Ann Arbor Saline Dermatology will do its best to schedule any patient with a new, changing, or symptomatic growth as quickly as possible. When scheduling your appointment, please be sure to tell our staff your issue so we can schedule you appropriately.  During your visit, you will first be evaluated by our doctor to discuss a plan of action for your growth.

REMOVAL

Biopsies and Other Procedures

If the skin lesion is suspicious enough to recommend further steps, these fall into one of two categories. Most skin lesions can be biopsied with a procedure that can be performed the same day as your visit. Less commonly, depending on the size and location of the growth, it may require scheduling an appointment for a lengthier procedure (an excision) or even placing a referral (for example, to a plastic surgeon).

FOLLOW UP

Biopsy Results

If a skin biopsy is performed, you should typically have results within 2 weeks. If you have not received any biopsy results 2 weeks after your biopsy, please call our office. Sometimes it can take longer to get a result back for certain issues that take longer to diagnose under the microscope, but double check with us to be sure.
