When having a skin exam at Ann Arbor Saline Dermatology, Dr. Bornstein will carefully screen your skin to evaluate for any possible skin cancers or concerning growths. We will take the time to explain and teach you about each finding to help you become more confident and knowledgeable about your own skin health. Don't forget to discuss sun protection strategies!
REMOVING GROWTHS
If any unusual spots are found during your skin exam, they will be biopsied immediately to rule out anything concerning. For patients who have many growths and spots, they will be prioritized in order of importance - this means that occasionally follow up visits may be required to address other spots.
FOLLOW UP
Ann Arbor Saline Dermatology recommends that all patients perform self-skin exams with a hand mirror and a full length mirror every 1-3 months. Getting familiar with your skin will make it much easier to detect if a spot is new or changing. If you find a spot you are concerned about be sure to call our office to be seen as soon as possible!
