DR. JOSHUA BORNSTEIN

Joshua Bornstein, MD, a native of Ann Arbor, MI, is a board-certified dermatologist and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.

He has a BS degree in both Honors Biochemistry and Economics from the University of Michigan Honors College in Literature, Science, and the Arts where he graduated with highest distinction as well as highest honors on his senior thesis. He was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society as a junior, an honor reserved for only seventeen undergraduates at the University of Michigan each year.

He obtained his M.D. from the University of Michigan Medical School where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society in recognition of professionalism, academic excellence, service, and leadership. He also received the Dean's Commendation for Excellence in Clinical Skills and the Art of Medicine, given to the top 10% of students based on exam scores, grades, and outstanding skills in verbal communication and physical diagnosis.  He also received several research awards and scholarships.

He completed his intern year at Beaumont (formerly Oakwood) Hospital in Dearborn and Taylor, Michigan, and completed his dermatology residency at the University of Michigan where he received extensive training from world-renowned physicians in medical dermatology, surgical dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, and cutaneous oncology.  At Michigan, he received numerous "Making a Difference" awards in recognition of patient care, was featured on the hospital website for outstanding patient care, and created a program to reduce organizational waste of medications, hospital supplies, and equipment.

After the University of Michigan, he worked at Pinnacle Dermatology in Okemos, Brighton, and Livonia before opening Ann Arbor Saline Dermatology. He has actively performed research in both psoriasis and Alzheimer’s disease and has been published in numerous scientific journals. In his spare time he enjoys live music in Ann Arbor, college sports, and exploring Michigan.
