TIMELINESS
At Ann Arbor Saline Dermatology, we understand that time is of the essence when treating any of our patients diagnosed with a skin cancer. Based on the type of skin cancer and the growth pattern, we will discuss an appropriate timeframe to get your skin cancer treated as soon as possible.
THE SURGICAL PROCEDURE
We use sterile technique and the best sutures to fully remove the skin cancer while obtaining the best possible cosmetic outcome. After having a skin cancer excised, be prepared to limit your activities for a minimum of two weeks while stitches are in place. After your procedure, you will receive a call confirming that the skin cancer was totally removed under the microscope.
FURTHER EVALUATION
Certain types of skin cancers, such as invasive melanomas and merkel cell carcinoma, must be treated by an academic specialty center such as the University of Michigan. Other skin cancers, depending on their size and location, may require a referral to an ENT or plastic surgeon.
